THOSE who forget to pack an umbrella for outdoors activities across the Redlands this weekend may be left soaked.
Rainfall is expected to accompany thunderstorm activity which is predicted to develop from late Saturday and last into Sunday.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Janine Wuasa said the wet weather would precede an easterly moving trough, which is expected to pass through the area from early next week.
While the development of a tropical low in Gulf Country today could bring gusts of up to 100km/h to parts of northern Queensland throughout the weekend, Redlands’ residents can expect wind speeds between 10 and 20 knots.
Ms Wuasa said day time highs of 30 degrees are expected to drop to about 28 degrees following the weekend’s predicted storms, with overnight lows set to hover about 24 degrees.
Ms Wuasa said the temperature was about average for this time of year.
