THE Redlands has been treated to a gorgeous sunset with photographers capturing the pink, yellow and orange-hued skies.
The array of colours all happened on Monday night from about 6pm.
Redlands camera club president Maree Morris said the natural phenomena was caused by light-bouncing particles in the air.
She said smoke haze blown in from as far as Canberra, along with yesterday’s cloud covering, could have created the right conditions for the stunning show.
Readers submitted to the Redland City Bulletin their sunset pictures taken at Redland Bay, Macleay Island and Thornlands.
As the pastel-hued skies are not a regular occurrence in the Redlands, Ms Morris said photographers had to be on the look-out for them.
Her favourite place for uninhibited views of daybreaks and sunsets was from Wellington Point.
“One side you overlook Stradboke Island and the other side you look forward to Brisbane City,” Ms Morris said.
