Across the nation, young people everyday are working in underpaid jobs, as generally they don’t have the confidence or tools to ask questions, let alone know the right questions to ask.
Fix My Pay offers free programs to senior school students that cover all workplace-related issues.
Fix My Pay provide this complimentary education as part of its give back to the community offerings.
As established HR consultants, owners Karen Howe and Karen Vercoe are also involved in both the pre and post-employment process, meaning they understand what is required to get the job, and keep a job.

Within their interactive 30 minutes sessions, they touch on:
- Identification – Where do you see yourself in the future?
- Do you have goals set, or a career pathway to support this?
- What is to be expected in the workplace – for both employees and employers?
- Resume preparation – including content and format
- Interview techniques – research and preparation equals confidence.
Beyond understanding pay and conditions, the goal of the session is to prepare the next generation of workers; kick start their thinking – to identify strengths and weaknesses, establish short term and long term goals, to build confidence and promote self-esteem.
You can benefit from this guidance just like any others have, including students at Brisbane Bayside State College:
“I would like to express my thanks to The HR People and Fix My Pay who sent a representative to our school to talk to our year 12 students. I am happy to recommend The Karen’s to any schools that are looking for someone to run a professional presentation aimed at assisting students in their final year of schooling in securing a position in their chosen career path.”
Karen Howe and Karen Vercoe (otherwise known as ‘The Karen’s’) have more than 30 years experience and have developed online courses to provide tools as a DIY program.
