POLICE are trying to find a man who killed a duck while walking children at Thornlands.
A woman taking her children to school reported seeing the man chase the duck, catch it and wring its neck.
She told police the man was accompanied by three children, including one in a pram and another in school uniform.
The incident occurred at Crystal Waters Park, near BayView State School, about 8.20am on Friday.
RSPCA Queensland spokesman Michael Beatty appealed for witnesses to come forward.
“It is very sad that anyone should do that front of children,” he said.
The man was described as being Caucasian, about 1.7 metres tall, of medium build, in his late twenties, with dark hair and a light olive complexion.
He was reported to be wearing a grey and white stripped hoodie, brown checkered knee length shorts and joggers.
Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has further information to phone Cleveland police station on 3824 9333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
