SHOPPERS from Coles at Victoria Point have proved how generous they are by their support for Ovarian Cancer Australia.
The Victoria Point store raised the fourth highest amount of money in the state as part of the fundraising efforts during February.
Donations at the store totalled almost $3000, contributing to the state’s tally of $92,000.
A spokesperson for Coles said the supermarket chain supported Ovarian Cancer Australia annually in February.
They spread awareness about ovarian cancer and encouraged shoppers to support the cause by purchasing teal merchandise or by making a donation.
Coles Victoria Point store manager Shelly Underwood said she was pleased the store’s fundraising efforts had ranked in the top five most generous stores in the state.
“I’m really proud of the team and the local community for their efforts in fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Australia, particularly because it is such a good cause,” she said.
“We’re quite a small team here, so raising the fourth highest amount in the state makes us that extra bit proud of our achievement and thankful for our wonderful customers who have supported us in this great fundraising initiative.”
