CALISTO Park Equestrian Centre will be renamed Special Needs Equestrians at a fundraising luncheon at Thornlands on March 25.
Author, health consultant and experienced horse breeder and trainer, Joanne Verikios, will be guest speaker at the event, hosted by the Rotary Club of Redland Sunrise.
Ms Verikios was also an Australian powerlifting champion, holding state, national and Commonwealth records.
CPEC, based at Pine Lodge Equestrian Centre in Taylor Road, provides equine therapy, education and riding lessons to people with a disability,or who are at risk or suffer from mental or debilitating illness.
Rotary Club Redland Sunrise president Janet Butler encouraged people to support the event.
“This is a great opportunity for the local community to show its support for the riding school, which will be launching its new brand name of Special Needs Equestrians on the day,” she said.
The centre offers lessons every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 2pm.
The luncheon will be held at Pine Lodge from 11.30am for midday.
