A 1949 Alfa Romeo Golden Arrow – one of only six left in the world – will go on show at Ormiston House in May.
It will be one of more than 50 classic Italian cars which will be at the heritage-listed house overlooking Moreton Bay on Sunday, May 21, from 10.30am to 4pm.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Australia will host its second Queensland Concours d’Elegance which will showcase the best of three Italian marques – Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia.
Vice president Keith Faulkner said vehicles would range from the rare Golden Arrow to models just arrived in showrooms.
“There will be something to excite anyone who loves exotic cars,’’ Mr Faulkner said.
Ormiston House will also be open, offering guided tours throughout the day.
Light refreshments will be available and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawns while listening to a local cello duo.
Entry to the event is $5 per adult and $1 per child, which includes the car display and access to Ormiston House.
All proceeds go to supporting the care and maintenance of the historic house and grounds.
The club held its first Concours d'Elegance at Ormiston House in 2015.
“We expect to attract 50 to 60 classic Alfa Romeos, Fiat and Lancia vehicles, from the 1940s to current models,’’ Mr Faulkner said.
“Last event we estimated something like 200 to 300 visitors came through the gates.’’
