THE generosity of people in the Redlands was supplemented by the Rotary Club of Capalaba to enable a donation of $4180 towards eradicating polio.
The club collected $380 in loose coins that people put into a purple pig money box during the sale of Rotary’s Christmas raffle tickets.
The Capalaba Rotary Club’s board matched the $380 with $3800 to bring the donation to $4180.
The money will be donated to Rotary International’s End Polio Now project.
Every $1 to the project is matched with $2 from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
