The Redlands Modern Country Music Club will raise funds for cancer research at its next club social to be held from 5pm on Saturday, April 1 at the clubhouse, Pinklands Sports Reserve, 226 Cleveland Redland Bay Road, Thornlands..
Guest entertainment is with Wild Oats who will be launching its debut CD. Wild Oats started playing together in 2008 and enjoy performing a broad range of country music including American bluegrass, Appalachian style folk , riverboat songs from the American deep south and Irish folk music. The band includes Peter Cathcart on vocal, guitar and mandolin, Greg O'Grady on vocal, banjo and harmonica and Ron Linning on vocal and bass. The band will perform from 8.30pm after supper.
Members of the Redlands Modern Country Music Club will also be on stage throughout the evening offering a variety of country music entertainment. Walk ups artists are welcome.
Admission is $4 for members and $5 for visitors.
A barbeque meal will be available and a licensed bar will be operating. Free tea and coffee is available and a free country style supper will be served at 8:30pm. Guests are invited to bring a chair and some insect repellent. Raffle tickets will be sold on the night.
