HELPING to enable the economic and social participation of those with disabilities is something Chris Baggarley is passionate about.
The Redlands woman has now organised a community discussion to do just that.
The event, called My Community Our Way Community Conversation, is on at Redlands Performing Arts Centre next Wednesday, April 12, between 9.30am and 3pm. Places can be reserved until COB Monday, April 10, by phoning RPAC on 3829 8131.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be served at the discussion.
The conversation, supported by STAR Community Services, is aimed at bringing the community together to identify gaps and opportunities to better assist those with disabilities.
STAR Community Services general manager Patsy Wilshire said the conversation was about giving everyone an opportunity to have their say.
“We are proud to be supporting this great initiative,” Ms Wilshire said. “The My Community Our Way Conversation is a very important event.”
The event has been organised ahead of the National Disability Insurance Scheme roll-out for Redlands in July next year.
Participants at the My Community Our Way Community Conversation will be asked what struggles they are faced in the Redlands and what could be done to help them.
