Cricket Australia is looking into an alleged incident involving James Pattinson which followed Victoria's historic third straight Sheffield Shield win last week.
Flying back from Alice Springs last Friday following the Bushrangers' title-clinching draw in the Shield final against South Australia, an apparently intoxicated Pattinson is believed to have acted in a difficult and rude manner towards Qantas cabin staff, before eventually settling down following the urgings of teammates. Qantas have not lodged an official complaint.
The star fast bowler - who is contracted by CA - is later understood to have been ushered out of Victoria's awards presentation that evening by a teammate after an animated disagreement with another Bushranger. It is believed there is no lingering resentment between Pattinson and the teammate.
A Cricket Australia spokesperson said they were aware of the alleged flight incident and it is being reviewed, but no formal complaint has been received.
Pattinson excelled in the back half of the Shield season having returned from injury. He departed this week for England to play for county Nottinghamshire ahead of a planned Ashes tilt next summer.
The incident is unrelated to the one for which Test spinner Steve O'Keefe was on Friday fined $20,000 by CA for a code of conduct breach.
