The Redlands Rugby ladies came away with a 29-12 win against Brothers on Saturday.
In a hard fought match against a much bigger Brothers forward pack the Redlands ladies dominated the tackle and breakdown. With this powerful play the backs received good clean ball and used the space out wide to score 29 unanswered points in the first half.
The second half was a reversal of the first half with Brothers using the speed of their wingers out wide.The Redlands ladies seem to lose their structure but the win had effectively been secured in the first half.
The men’s team had a 48-0 win in their final trial game against Redcliffe before their season kicks off on Saturday. The back line were at their best, expoiting the gaps in the Redcliffe defensive line.
Coaching staff were able to experiment with different combinations before they settle on the team for the first competition game this weekend.
