Macleay Island Arts Complex and our bayside, landscaped sculpture gardens had a vibrant creative atmosphere on Easter Sunday with artists working and displaying their work in the art, pottery and print workshops and outside under marquees. We lost count with well over 400 visitors through the gallery.
Visitors were mesmerised by artists working their craft, showing how they work and explaining the skills, motivations and inspirations behind their creations.
Artists At Work was a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at the way artists work and a rare opportunity to meet emerging artists and artists with national and international reputations in their fields and whose works appear in Australian and overseas galleries and private collections.
Macleay Island is home to a wealth of talented artists who have created their own artistic Mecca, and who eagerly shared their talents.
A trip to Macleay Island is always a great day out, a short ferry ride from Redland Bay.
