A POLL by Redland City Bulletin has found nearly 70 per cent of voters in favour of same-sex marriage.
The survey is in contrast to an annual household survey by Bowman MP Andrew Laming that found the majority of Redland City residents opposed same-sex marriage.
Mr Laming said 43.7 per cent of those who responded to his survey supported same-sex marriage.
A total of 699 people voted in an online poll run by the Bulletin earlier this month.
Of the total, 487 people – or 69.67 per cent – said they supported same-sex marriage, while 205 people, or 29.33 per cent, were opposed.
Seven people, or 1 per cent, were undecided.
The results from the poll are more closely in line with those from a ReachTel poll commissioned by Australians for Equality that found 59.3 per cent of Bowman voters supported same-sex marriage.
That survey found 33.2 per cent were opposed.
Mr Laming said at the time of releasing his results that he had received a response rate of about 7 per cent, or 3500 households, during his 2017 survey.
Internet polls are not scientific but reflect the interests of those who take part.
