STARFISH Tri-Athletic Club has won third place in the Queensland Aggregate Club Championship for the 2016/2017 season.
Starfish head coach Ben Luscombe said it was a huge effort for all their triathletes as there were 44 other clubs from across the state in the running.
Mr Luscombe said the club was young as it had only been running officially for three years, but in this time had made themselves known.
He said he was proud to see everyone’s effort and dedication had paid off.
“We have a fantastic mix of competitive and social athletes and everyone supports each other,” he said.
Mr Luscombe said the club was lucky to have Ted Britt joining the team as assistant coach.
“Ted’s experience in competition from sprint distance to ironman is a great asset for us.
Mr Britt said making the decision to join Starfish was easy.
“After the first session I felt such a great vibe and atmosphere,” he said.
“I can't wait to see what I can add to the program.”
