Lifestyle
Victoria Point is all about those leisurely outdoor afternoons watching the world go by. But don’t let the relaxed seaside feel of the point fool you.
There is a hive of activity. Boating, fishing and water sports are a way of life here, as are recreational activities.
Sport is very much a part of the community with the Vicky Point Action Indoor Centre, the Sharks Sporting Club, which supports senior and junior football, netball, triathlon and cricket, and the Victoria Point Bowls Club.
There is plenty for youngsters to do including hang out along the esplanades, at the Victoria Point Cineplex and local shopping centres.
Those who love water can pull out the paddle board and head down to Thompson’s Beach, a popular swimming spot when the weather is warm. Victoria Point is also the gateway to Coochiemudlo Island. Catch the ferry to Coochie and enjoy four kilometres of beautiful beaches.
You will also be amazed by the Point’s wonderful parks. Bayside WH Yeo Park at the end of Thompson Esplanade is one of the best places for kids, as is Wilson Esplanade. Victoria Point Recreational Reserve on Masters Avenue has boat ramps and access to the bay.
All this is still just 40 minutes from Brisbane.
