REDLANDS SUBURB PROFILE: THE REDLANDS
Regional snapshot
Owning a property in Redland City is an attractive option for many not just because of what it offers in employment, schooling, retail and commercial, but because of its affordability for all types of buyers.
Value for money in the Redlands is outstanding if you compare the costs of living waterside on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts or by the river through Brisbane.
Six out of the 10 suburbs in the city front the waters of Moreton Bay and having a backyard for recreation is just one area advantage.
Natural bushland and reserves still make up quite a large area, which compliments the newer developing areas to help with resident retention and predicted future growth.
Don’t forget the likes of Cleveland Point, Raby Bay Harbour, Victoria Point Lakeside cinemas and shopping, Capalaba commercial and retail sectors, first class schooling and education, sporting facilities and transport. Redland residents can have relaxed affordable living 40 minutes from the Gold Coast and or Brisbane CBD.

From the experts
When we look at average median house price across the city compared to Brisbane and the Gold Coast there’s a significant gap.
The Redland city average house price is $515,000 compared to Brisbane and Gold Coast at $660,000 and $610,000 respectively in the last 12 month period (April 2016 to March 2017), according to Price Finder.
I believe people and their families trend towards slightly bigger blocks of land and dwellings when looking to reside in the Redland because of its affordability compared to neighbouring cities.
The average family home is growing in size across the region and for most purchasers today require a minimum of four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two car lock-up.
You can have these now standard features in a home for as little as $400,000 for something that may need some renovation, to the luxurious homes in Raby Bay, Ormiston, Birkdale Thorneside and Wellington Point with sale values upwards of $3 million.
Not to forget you can have in between these values in other suburbs and still be on the water with views like in Victoria Point, Thornlands and Redland Bay.
Redland City is a secret no more and welcomes all."

If the water isn’t what you’re chasing, Sheldon, Capalaba and Mount Cotton offer you that feeling of quiet, leafy country Queensland still only be minutes from the bay.
The only suburb not yet spoken of is Alexandra Hills and its is the neighbor to eight of the 10 suburbs. If you want a central position to all that is available, Alex Hills will be your choice.
There is one more element to the Redlands: the bay islands. Russell, Karragarra, Lamb, Macleay and Coochiemudlo Islands form a very unique lifestyle. It is my opinion that it would be the cheapest island living in the world.
