A man has been charged after a citizen's arrest on the Gold Coast overnight.
The 32-year-old, allegedly armed with a knife, carjacked a woman and man in an Upper Coomera carpark about 7pm after they refused to give him a lift, police said.
He then drove to a home on Reserve Road where he argued with the residents before they restrained him and called police.
The Arundel man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries and was charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
Another man was charged on the Gold Coast after allegedly spitting on a police officer during a call out to a home disturbance about the same time of evening.
Police were called a home on Nerang River Drive just after 7pm last night after reports of a disturbance.
They identified themselves as they entered the property where a man became aggressive, police said.
Attempts to calm the man down failed and as police tried to restrain him, he allegedly spat in one of the officer's faces.
The 24-year-old Nerang man was charged with one count each of serious assault police and obstruct police.
He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on June 30.
The senior constable involved will undergo disease testing.
