THE community support was evident at a celebration for the life of Sara Zelenak at Cleveland Showgrounds.
Hundreds of people joined in to a 90-minute fitness class, enjoyed live music, bought raffle tickets and showed their support for Ms Zelenak’s family.
The 21-year-old was murdered in a terrorist attack in London on June 3.
Healthworks Cleveland owners Kacie and Matt Newlands planned to hold a small fitness class to raise money for Ms Zelenak’s mother, Julie Wallace, who has worked at the gym for more than 10 years.
As support for the Sweat for Sara event grew, it was relocated to the Cleveland Showgrounds.
Mr Newlands said the event and the fun fitness class was held to remember and celebrate Sara and to show love and support for her family.
“Sara was a fun, happy 21-year-old girl who was living her life to the full,” he said. “We want the class to reflect that.”
A funeral service for Ms Zelenak was held at Moreton Bay College on Friday morning.
