About $2500 was raised at a biggest morning tea event held for the first time at the Donald Simpson Centre in aid of the Cancer Council on June 26.
The event was sold out with more than 130 guests attending.
Funds were raised through more than 50 raffles which were sourced through local business and in-house donations.
The centre cafe supplied the morning tea, involving more than 20 volunteers. Representing the Cancer Council was Destiny with Pam Tranter another special guest.
This is the first time the centre managment has hosted such an event with the support of its Board. Previously small groups within the centre have hosted similar morning teas.
