The Redland Performing Arts Centre will send lots of children on a bear hunt with We’re Going on a Bear Hunt expanding to three shows on August 19.
The show is an impishly cute adaptation of Michael Rosen's award-winning children's picture book, with illustrations by Helen Oxenbury.
From the same amazing team that brought Possum Magic, Wombat Stew, My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch and There’s a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt brings this much-loved picture book to life.
This is the story of a family out for a walk and on the lookout for a growling bear. They have to march through long swishy grass, wade through thick gloopy mud and even battle a snow storm before entering a cave.
Featuring an all Australian cast, this mini-musical captures the fun and frolics of a father who is clearly still a child at heart, his three children including a tiny intrepid bear hunter in the making and a big brown cuddly bear. Expect catchy songs, interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure.
An extra show has been added at 3pm with limited seats also available at the 10.30am and 1pm shows. Tickets are $18 to $22 and can be booked via www.rpac.com.au or by calling the RPAC Box Office on 3829 8131 (booking fees are $4.10 by phone and $5 online per transaction).
Winning one family pass (value $72) to the 3pm show is Glenys Mirssig of Birkdale.
