The Redlands Modern Country Music Club welcomes John Warren from Grafton to its next social, being held from 5pm on Saturday, August 5 at its clubhouse at Pinklands Sports Reserve, 226 Cleveland Redland Bay Road, Thornlands.
Warren was born and bred in Grafton NSW and since childhood has always had a love of country music.
Influences are Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard and George Jones.
Warren said performing at a local country music club was an ideal starting point.
“That’s how I started and before long I was playing in an old time dance band, then a professional duo called Double Trouble followed by a bigger band called Suburban Country,” he said.
Warren now works as a solo act.
Members of the Redlands Modern Country Music Club will also be on stage offering a variety of country music entertainment.
The club house is a semi-outdoor venue and patrons are invited to bring a chair and a jumper. Admission is $4 for members and $5 for visitors. A barbeque meal will be available and a licensed bar will be operating. Free tea and coffee is available throughout the night and a free country style supper will be served at 8:30pm.
