Redland City Business and Retail awards a stunning expose of local business

CAPALABA Sports Club was awarded Redlands Business of the Year at the Redland Business and Retail Awards on Saturday.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Sheldon Event Centre for the annual event, which showcases the best businesses and retail outlets on offer in Redland City. 

With the theme of ‘Under the Sea’ this year’s event was emceed by Mark Jones, of Your Digital Solution. 

Located in Ney Road, Capalaba Sports Club has been operating for more than 30 years, providing a family-friendly environment for good food and service along with some great entertainment. The club also won the category of Best Medium or Large Business. 

Best Retailer of the Year was awarded to Fernwood Capalaba, which also won the category of Best Fitness Club, while the Business Awards Gallery of Honour inductee for 2017 was Style Mechanics. The awards, of which Redland City Bulletin was a platinum sponsor, were run by Redland City Chamber of Commerce, with President’s Encouragement Award going to Cleveland business, The Bench. 

In other categories, Best Small Business went to frc Environment, Cleveland; Most Innovative Business went to Aussie Concrete Products, Cleveland; Floss Family Dental took the award for Best Start-Up Business; and IGA Mount Cotton, Redland Bay, Redland Heights and Wellington Point were all in the running for Best Supermarket, with IGA Mount Cotton winning the category.
