Home buyers and owners want a modern, up-to-date clean look with stylish finishes, fixtures and fittings when it comes to their bathrooms.
Redlanders are renovating their bathrooms to make the most of design and are tapping in to new accessible and affordable materials, according to bathroom expert Kane Ringdahl.
With more than 20 years experience creating bathrooms in the Redlands through his business Steamy Bathrooms, Kane said home owners are looking to reflect their internal living spaces – open, environmentally friendly and timeless.
“The trends that we are seeing with residential design is a shift towards the use of neutral colour palettes, with natural timber and stone feature elements throughout,” he said.

“Use of high quality stone benchtops and spashbacks are also becoming more prevalent as a common item, as these items which previously may have been cost prohibitive are becoming more accessible and affordable within the market.”
Redlanders are also making the most of combining small spaces to create a single, large bathroom which create a ambiance of tranquility and peace.
“Clients are simplifying the bathroom design into a more open spacial arrangement, by combing previously separated toilets or store rooms into a single larger room, with higher quality finishes.
“There is also a trend towards removing the bath in lieu of having a more spacious two person shower.”
Those looking to renovate smaller bathrooms should opt for large floor tiles and wall tiles to create an illusion of a larger internal space.
Kane advises to use lighter colour materials with only small pops of vibrant or darker colours.
