This amazing winter weather gives everyone the opportunity to take a ferry ride on Moreton Bay and a trip to Macleay Island is always a great day out.
Macleay Island is home to a wealth of talented artists who have created their own artistic mecca, the Creative Precinct of Macleay Island Arts Complex (MIAC).
Art is a stimulating activity. Art on an island is an adventure.
MIAC, situated bayside and within beautiful landscaped sculpture gardens, is unique and has a vibrant, creative atmosphere with regular pottery and art workshops.
Currently MIAC is ‘Celebrating The Female Form’. This exciting exhibition closes August 20 and is followed by a members’ exhibition for four weeks, open Friday to Sunday.
MIAC is pleased to announce the Opening of One Size Fits All: The MIAC Mini-Master Challenge. This fundraising event with musical interlude will officially open on Saturday, September 23 at 2pm. All ceramics and paintings for sale from $20 to $100.
Some of our regular creative groups include Tuesday art, 10am to noon; Thursday painting and printing, 10am to noon; pottery workshop open Monday to Wednesday, and Saturday, 9am to noon; life drawing, first Friday of the month, 10am to noon.
The art gallery will be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm, from September.
Macleay Island Arts Complex is located at 95-97 Coast Road, Macleay Island.
