Singer songwriter, Georgie Taylor, 15 of Thornlands is hitting the country road following recent graduation from the Country Music Association of Australia Junior Academy in Tamworth in July 2017.
She will compete in the Ekka’s Country Music Showdown showcasing her talent and vying for a share in more than $12,500 worth of cash and prizes.
“I'm really excited to be a part of the Ekka Country Music Showdown this year. It will be great to compete with some talented young country artists, including some friends that I made at academy. I'm also lucky enough to be attending the Wildcard Workshop with stage coaching mentor Rob McGowan beforehand to enhance my performance skills,” she said.
She will then perform at the iconic Gympie Music Muster joining other young country artists in The Music Makers Show. The opportunity to perform at the Gympie Music Muster is a dream come true after graduating from the nine-day country music course and getting an insight into the industry from world class tutors and instrumentalists.
Georgie co-wrote and performed Tied in Chains at the CMAA Junior Academy Graduation Concert and will perform it again as part of the set list in The Music Makers Show. .
The Gympie Music Muster is a four-day camping and festival experience, featuring a 100 per cent homegrown Aussie lineup and the biggest names in country music. it draws crowds of up to 30,000.
Georgie will perform in two of The Music Makers Shows on Friday,, August 25 and Sunday, August 27.
