IGA X-press Alexandra Hills has launched a new program to raise funds all year round through the purchase of Dairy Farmers two-litre milk, for Hilliards State School as part of the retailer’s continued support of the school.
Retailer at IGA X-press Alexandra Hills Dan Rigney said the store loved being part of the local community.
“We thought this idea was a great way to get kids and local families involved in raising money for the local school. Milk is a key nutrient for healthy growing children that every shopper buys so for every two litres of milk sold we donate 10 cents,” he said.
“We also ran a competition for the school children to design a poster to convey the in-store offer in any creative way they saw fit. We had so many fantastic entries to this competition, and after much deliberation we picked two great entries as our winners.”
“I hope this first donation of $400 goes some way towards supporting the local school and providing great educational facilities for the children and we look forward to our next collaboration.”
Collecting the cheque donation from IGA X-Press Alexandra Hills on behalf of Hilliards State School was school Captain Zac Clow and school Vice-Captain Tiana O'Toole.
IGA X-press Alexandra also participates in IGA Community Chest which raises funds for local charities, teams and organisations through in-store purchases, including products from IGA’s new Community Co range. Funds raised are invested back in the local community.
Community Co is a new range of products available at participating IGA stores all around Australia.
