The September exhibition at the Old SchoolHouse gallery will feature Barry Parker Webb in his first exhibition since joining us in January. His translucent watercolours and soft pastels have sold well over the past six months and his passion for landscapes and seascapes are evident in his work.
He enjoys the challenge these mediums present and embraces unexpected results that each brush stroke or pastel mark may bring.
Exhibiting with Barry is OSHG member Kathy Delaney, whose oil paintings follow a similar theme. She has been painting seriously for the past 12 years and has often taken part in the Kingfisher Art Show and Red Arts – Art By The Boardwalk.
The changing light of the Australian landscape intrigues and inspires her to capture nature’s beauty in her artwork. Her 3D paper tole cards will also be available for sale.
Dr Graham Chataway from Cleveland, will join Kathy and Barry as our guest 3D artist. His materials are mostly obtained from country farms and Oyster Point lopped trees, such as mango, lychee, avocado, olive and other exotics.
Using time-worn recycled materials, together with parametric shapes, his wood creations are a societal statement.
Land to Sea runs from Friday September 1 until October 1, with the official opening night on Saturday September 2. Join us on the veranda for live music, a glass of wine and savouries.
