THIS October will mark seven years since Garry Rogers Motorsport celebrated victory in the Bathurst 1000, so the team owner is hungry to see those scenes repeated.
It was the pairing of Garth Tander and Jason Bargwanna who claimed the chequered flag in 2000, coming from 10th on the grid in their Holden VT Commodore.
Since then the closest Garry Rogers Motorsport has got to another victory in the Great Race was a third placing in 2008 with Lee Holdsworth and Michael Caruso.
This year GRM will field a two-car assault on the Bathurst 1000 – Tander to share his Commodore with James Golding while James Moffat is paired with Richard Muscat in the other.
The team showed promise in the opening leg of the Enduro Cup – last Sunday’s Sandown 500 – with a fourth (Tander-Golding) and seventh placing.

It was an effort that has Rogers claiming his team can succeed at Bathurst.
“Sure, to have two cars in the top 10 is a pleasing result, but it is not what we race for. Like everybody, we want to win,” he said.
“I felt as though our cars got stronger and stronger as the race went on and that is indicative of how we have raced this season, let’s hope the Bathurst 1000 goes 1000 kilometres, because we are going there with some confidence and purpose.
“We can win.”
