A 23-YEAR-OLD man was hit on the head with a baseball bat and robbed after a group of five men smashed their way into a Victoria Point home this morning.
The incident happened at a Crestlea Street address about 3am.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said witnesses were needed to help find those involved, with a replica gun also brandished at the male victim during the theft.
"Detectives are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or heard anything suspicious in the area overnight to contact police,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the home’s front sliding door was smashed by the offenders on entry.
A 23-year-old woman and a child at the address were not physically injured.
The spokesperson said a Suzuki motorcyle, sedan, money and other personal property was stolen by the offenders, who also made a failed attempt to take a second car.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the male victim was later treated for head injuries by paramedics, but declined to be taken to hospital via ambulance.
The incident followed the ransacking of a Fryar Street home earlier this week, but it is not known if the two incidents were related.
