CLEVELAND police have urged to people to lock their cars after a spate of thefts from vehicles at Ormiston were reported during the weekend.
Seven vehicles were targeted overnight on Saturday, October 7, with wallets, cash, jewellery and laptops just some of the property taken.
Police said unsecured vehicles parked along streets, including Kilroe and Foggitt courts, Como and Beckwith streets and Conochie Place were singled out.
Home owners have also been encouraged to submit to police CCTV footage that capture suspect behaviour from the night.
Police said a male of Caucasian appearance, aged about 17 and wearing a backpack, had been videoed stealing a laptop and its case from a vehicle parked at Conochie Street about 1.30am on Sunday, October 8.
The CCTV footage was submitted to police by the car’s owner.
