ACT's Champion of Champions hopefuls fall short

The ACT's lawn bowls Champion of Champions hopefuls have fallen short of national glory in Darwin.

Chloe Morrison capped off her tournament with a win to finish sixth, while Breeze Howard dropped his final two clashes to finish sixth in the men's division.

The Northern Territory's Colleen Orr and Tasmania's Lee Schraner came away with the silverware after a thrilling finish at the Darwin Bowls and Social Club on Friday.

Tuggeranong's Morrison and Yass' Howard were within striking distance of victory in their respective divisions heading into the final day but both finished on three wins.

Morrison only finished one win behind eventual women's champion Orr and would have been right in the mix had she pulled off a clean sweep on the final day.

The Champion of Champions event is one of the most prestigious singles lawn bowls events in the country with the best players from every state and territory on hand.
