A VICTORIA Point dentist’s registration has been reinstated with conditions after the Health Ombudsman forced him to stop practicing in March this year.
Dr Prashant Raniga’s dental registration was suspended on March 24. It was reinstated on September 13.
A Health Ombudsman spokesperson would not say why Dr Raniga’s registration was suspended.
“The Health Ombudsman is unable to comment on matters that are subject to an investigation,” the spokesperson said.
As reported by Redland City Bulletin in April, Dr Raniga had placed signage at his Raniga Dental clinic at Victoria Point Shopping Centre, telling clients the premises were closed with refurbishments underway.
Dr Raniga said he could not practice until the ombudsman had notified him that findings from a successful assessment had been received.
He said the audit, completed by an independent dentist skilled in infection control, had been conducted earlier this month.
Conditions included four random monthly checks.
Audits would ensure dental work was done with appropriate diligence, including proper sterilization and infection control procedures.
Dr Reniga said it was great his suspension had been revoked.
