Ormiston College has once again lifted their game in the 2017 Australian Schools’ Bench Press Championships.
The school’s Private Health Club has produced one of the bestSchools Bench Press Teams in not only the Redlands and Queensland but also Australia.
The 2017 National Schools Bench Press Championships results were made official a week ago and the results delighted Ormiston College Private Health Club Elite JNR Bench Press Team coach Kev Rogers.
“The results speak for themselves,” he said.
“From a team of 26 Lifters the team recorded 11 gold, including three national records, six silver, three bronze, three fourths and a fifth and sixth place.”
The 2017 Junior Bench Press Team from the Redlands consisted of;
Rylee Grier-Stralow, Alice Myers and Ben Stone who all won Australian titles and set national records.
Jadon Mitchell, Laif Williams, Leah Hannam, Aaron Fisher, Cody Miller, Kaden Rogers, Jake Lambourne and George Story all finished first in their age and weight classes.
Jacob Poole, Louie Ward, Luke Lambourne, Christopher Metcalfe, Jackson Kovacic and Tristan Huggard all came second in their divisions.
Amy Byron, Carlton Jaffery, and Cade Elliott all earned third in their division.
Matthew Brewer, Jarrod Fisher andTanner Elliot came fourth in their division.
Daniel Wang ended up with a fifth in his division and Ryan West and Miles Jaffery both finished sixth in their division.
This unique national competition is postal event meaning no travel for competitors that’s open to all secondary schools in Australia.
