Cancer Council Queensland’s volunteers are ready to turn Wellington Point Hall tropical this month with a fiesta-load of fun.
The Redlands Volunteer Branch will host their annual Girls’ Lunch In on Friday, October 27 from 11am, in support of Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In campaign.
Branch member Tish Henderson said local ladies and gents should save the date for the tropical fiesta-themed event.
“We would love to have locals come along and enjoy themselves as we fund raise for Cancer Council’s work and to help women impacted by cancer,” Ms Henderson said.
“Join the fun and dress up, if you like.”
Girls Lunch In will include a delicious lunch, musical entertainment by the fabulous Vinyl Frenzy Duo and a speaker from Cancer Council Queensland.
Tickets are $30 per person and bookings are essential. To secure your spot, phone Heather on 3286 1803 or Tish on 0407 587 096.
Cancer Council Queensland chief executive Chris McMillan said those like the Redlands Volunteer Branch who got involved in the Girls’ Night In campaign made a big difference in the fight against cancer.
“Girls’ Night In asks women to harness the power of their friendship groups to make a real difference and save lives,” Ms McMillan said.
“By supporting the fundraising efforts of local Girls’ Night In hosts and participating in the campaign, you will be helping Cancer Council Queensland support the one in six Queensland women who will be diagnosed with a breast or gynaecological cancer in their lifetime.”
Cancer Council Girls’ Night In aims to raise $500,000 through 1200 events in Queensland this year.
