The Age has dominated nominations for this year's Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism with finalists in 10 different categories.
The ABC aside, that is more than twice the number of finalists than any other newsroom in the country.
The nominations are spread across categories of news, business, investigations, sport, "scoops", features, cartoons, commentary, major events and production - virtually every categoryThe Age is eligible for.
Age investigations editor Michael Bachelard is a finalist in three different categories and senior business journalist Adele Ferguson in two.
"It's a great achievement and recognition of the enormous talent at The Age across a range of areas," said Age editor Alex Lavelle.
"It is a team effort and the whole newsroom should be very proud of having finalists in 10 categories."
