The last thing Queanbeyan Tigers player sees as they walk out onto their home ground are the words 'Culture Matters' emblazoned on the door.
It's a theme the club has chosen in the hope it reinforces the importance how you carry yourself both on and off the field.
As such, the Tigers will be conducting a club trip next week rather different than the footy club trips you might normally see in the paper.
Twelve Queanbeyan Tigers, five male players, five female players and two volunteers, will be going to the Solomon Islands to do humanitarian work.
The group will be building wells to provide clean water to a women's and orphan's refuge and conducting football clinics with local kids.
The trip comes on the back of Tigers chaplin Scott Minchin conducting humanitarian visits to the Solomon Islands through his role in the Australian Defence Force.
Minchin said he was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm Tigers players had shown in pushing for this trip and was reflective of the club's culture.
"One of the focuses of Queanbeyan Tigers is to develop these guys and girls as members of the community not just as footy players," Minchin said.
"We all know there's a bit of rubbish hung on Queanbeyan as a town and I'm just really proud that it's Queanbeyan footy club doing this."
Tigers' first grade captain Ryan Quade said the trip would be a valuable experience.
"We've always been a bit of a community based club and this is just another way we can give back to the community, a different community, but it's a really nice way of helping those that need it," Quade said.
"Day to day we're very lucky to live in Australia, and lucky to be part of a strong club here, to be able to give to people that need help is a really worthy cause.
"Sport is a great way to connect with people, so if we take some footys over and can have a kick around with the kids hopefully it's something they can enjoy and we'll get a lot out of that."
Women's captain Hannah Dunn said she expected the trip to be "an eye-opener", but was looking forward to seeing what Australians often take for granted but is so valuable in some communities.
Tigers player Hayden Kelly added the club had been hugely supportive to get the trip off the ground, making financial donations and with many people donating clothes and equipment for the group to take over.
Minchin said the club was looking at making the trip an annual event.
