A STATUE saluting the services of military nurses at Cleveland’s Anzac memorial precinct is set to be unveiled on Remembrance Day.
Redlands RSL Sub Branch president Alan Harcourt said he was delighted the piece had been installed in time for November 11.
Mr Harcourt said the piece, constructed by stonemasons J.H. Wagner & Sons, was the park’s last major work, with only lights to illuminate the statues still to be installed.
No other work is planned for the site, which is adjacent to the sub branch’s headquarters along Passage Street.
M Harcourt said all military nurses were invited to attend the Remembrance Day service, which is set to begin at 10.30am on Saturday, November 11.
He said the statue would be unveiled immediately after the service and dedicated by the sub branch’s chaplains.
Mr Harcourt said the plastic wrap would be removed and replaced with a cloth covering for the ceremony on the day.
Redlands RSL Sub Branch is at Passage Street, Cleveland, opposite the Redlands RSL club.
