Folk Redlands presents Kevin and the Coffee Cups as its next group at Indigiscapes, Capalaba on November 19.
The group is a fusion of two husband and wife duos who met regularly at the Redlands Modern Country music club, and discovered a complementary love of music.
Kevin and Dehlia Brown have been playing music since childhood, with Kevin playing guitar in pub bands since his teens, and Dehlia performing since age 5.
In 2006 Kevin and Dehlia won the South Australian Country Music Festival Award for Duos and also placed third in the song-writing category for their original composition “Nothing Changes”. Together, they have performed throughout S.E. Qld, Northern NSW, Victoria and South Australia, and have been regular visitors to the Tamworth Country Music festival.
Hans and Rowena Braaksma discovered the music scene later in life and share a love of an eclectic mix of Americana/country music. They’ve wasted no time, gigging at festivals and Country Clubs around Brisbane and NSW.
The two couples recently combined their talents to form Kevin and the Coffee Cups.
Together they are a powerhouse of sweet harmonies. Their repertoire boasts a mix of ballads, toe tappers and dance songs from the ‘50’s to the present day.
Blackboard performers are invited to open the show with 20 minute slots available – on a first in basis from 1pm to 3pm with Kevin and the Coffee Cups from 3pm to 4pm.
Entry is free. More on folkredlands.org
