2DayFM's breakfast radio reboot can't come soon enough, with Em Rusciano's show suffering its lowest ratings result yet since she took over the gig in January.
The show fell 0.4 points in the latest Sydney radio survey - the penultimate ratings survey of the year - to sit at a 2.9 per cent share, trailing the likes of Triple J (3.6) and 2UE's Talking Lifestyle (3.8).
It's the station's worst result in the breakfast slot since Maz Compton and Dan Debuf bottomed at 2.4 in January 2015.
2DayFM's Hit Network earlier this month announced a reshuffle to its breakfast show, with Have You Been Paying Attention? comedian Ed Kavalee set to take over from Rusciano's current co-host Harley Breen at the start of 2018.
Elsewhere, Alan Jones remains atop the breakfast field with a 13.8 per cent share for 2GB, despite suffering a 1.5 point slide this survey.
KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O - who saw their unbeaten run ended by ARN labelmates Jonesy and Amanda at WSFM last survey - have reclaimed first position atop the FM breakfast slot, jumping 0.8 points to 11.1 per cent.
In the later morning slot, 2GB's Ray Hadley stayed steady ahead of the field with a 15.9 per cent share.
It was an impressive survey result for KIISFM's Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek, who are now the top rating drive show in Sydney, after jumping 0.8 points for a 10.6 per cent audience share.
The comedy duo leapfrogged perennial leader 2GB's Ben Fordham, who dropped 0.7 points to 9.7 per cent.
The news should prove promising to 2DayFM's beleaguered bosses, with the duo set to switch to the station next year to take over the national drive slot left vacant by Hamish & Andy's radio retirement.
Smooth FM's Byron Webb clawed back ground on his WSFM rival Jason Staveley, jumping 1.4 points to finish with a 9.2 per cent share, while Triple M's Merrick Watts suffered a hefty 1.5 point drop to finish at 5.6 per cent.
