Canberra Capitals coach Paul Goriss admits the only person getting in the way of another Liz Cambage points rampage is Liz Cambage.
The Capitals are desperate desperate to snap an eight-game losing streak and stop the Melbourne superstar from guiding the Boomers to a fourth straight WNBL win.
Cambage dropped 44 points against the Adelaide Lightning last round and is averaging a league-leading 21.7 points per game.
The 203cm centre will look to continue her red-hot form against the Capitals and Goriss admitted his players face a daunting task stopping Cambage in Melbourne on Sunday.
"The only way you can stop Liz is Liz stopping herself," Gorris said.
"If Liz isn't mentally there for the game then that's one key focus, but if she's queued in and ready to play she's a hard person to stop and a world class talent.
"At six foot eight I don't think there's anybody in the league who can stop her one on one, so we have to do a good job individually but also as a playing group.
"We've got to get back to more of a running game which we've lost that over the last few weeks, we're not getting enough transition baskets, we need to make it a track meet where we get up and down and see if she can stay with us for 40 minutes."
Goriss said the winless run had been the toughest period of his coaching career and believes the problems are psychological.
"I think it's mental, I really do think it's mental," Gorris said.
"We can start off games and play well and have a great half of basketball but then we go away and find ways not to stick to the game plan or we go individual and to me that's a mental focus not and physical focus.
"You question yourself, you question your preparation of the team, whether the game plan is right, whether what you're doing is right, if you have the right people.
"Because at the end of the day the buck stops with me, if the team doesn't perform that comes back on me and we've got to be professional.
"The players are paid to be here, they're paid to play basketball and this is their job so you've got to turn up every day and give your best effort."
The Capitals have the worst field goal percentage in the league at 38 per cent and Goriss said his players need to make better decisions in attack.
"When we turnover the ball and take bad shots, and our shot selection at times is really poor, we shoot ourselves in the foot," Goriss said.
"Right now my responsibility is back on the playing group to take some better shots and to stay with the game plan and keep better possession of the ball.
"Winning and losing is a habit but at the moment we're going away from the game plan for a quarter and losing control.
"The biggest thing for us is consistency and when we find our consistency the wins will come."
