2017 has been a big year at Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare.
The centre have begun to make major structural improvements to the building such as the renovation of one of its bathrooms, the installation of new floors and blinds, some new paths and the creation of a new community room.
The community room was created to provide additional services to families and children regarding children’s develop and health.
Bayside now have visiting occupational therapists and a speech therapist conducting sessions with some of the children at the centre.
“We feel this is extremely meaningful to the parents and families at our service because it means they are not required to take time off from work to attend these sessions,” Bayside director Meegan O’Donohue said.

“It also means the children in our care are able to attend these sessions in a safe and comfortable environment rather than the clinical feel of a child development specialist’s office.
“This has proven to be extremely success in assisting to close the gap on developmental delays before children attend school.”
This year, with the purchase of a Thermomix the centre has been able to abolish a lot of the preservatives and additives that are usually found in foods.
The children now enjoy wholesome home cooked foods with a lot of natural produce coming from Randall’s farm or from its own garden.
“We are also happy to report that our beautiful and very happy chickens have begun laying eggs this week,” Ms O’Donohue said. “We will be able to include fully organic eggs to our weekly menu now. “
The inclusion of caring for the chickens has been a great addition to Bayside’s Government Funded Kindergarten Program.
Currently, places are available in the nursery on Mondays and Fridays, the Kindy room on Mondays and Thursdays and the Toddler room on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Spaces are limited though.
