February 2017 marked Sheldon College’s 20th anniversary. The college has commemorated this special anniversary through a program of outstanding events and celebrations throughout 2017.

The founding principal, Dr Lyn Bishop, had a vision to open a school which would leave a legacy for children in the Redland Shire.
Today Sheldon College caters for students from 15 months of age through to Year 12 and it boasts outstanding achievements in the academic, sporting and cultural arenas.
Recent developments at the college has seen the opening of a world class, IAAF certifiable, blue synthetic eight-lane 400 metre athletics track by the chair of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Peter Beattie AC.

The athletics track is a world-class resource that provides opportunities for Sheldon College students as well as the wider Redlands community.
The Sheldon College LINQ Precinct is an innovative facility that enables research-driven teaching and learning.
It houses an Enterprise Centre focusing on business entrepreneurialism, a dedicated STEAM inspired Makerspace including Virtual Reality workspace, CAD and engineering lab, prototyping and robotics labs and industry-standard media production facilities for students.
In addition to these developments, Sheldon College has been recognised and awarded by The Educator magazine as one of the nation’s most progressive and forward-thinking schools with the 2017 Innovative Schools Award, leading the way in efforts to best prepare students for tomorrow’s world.

Last week Sheldon College farewelled the 2017 Year 12 graduates and will continue to transform the lives of students through first-class teaching and learning as the college enters its 21st year.
