POLICE have urged residents to video and record registration plate numbers of hoons in a bid to stop the dangerous behaviour.
Senior Constable Michael Molloy said police had seen some motorists doing burnouts and driving illegally modified cars at Wellington Point reserve and other areas in the Redlands.
He said 82 infringement notices were issued by Capalaba Road Police Unit in a 100 day crackdown on hooning and other anti-social behaviour from August.

“Police don’t have a problem with car clubs and others using these public spaces legitimately, it’s the irresponsible few who cause noise complaints, smash bottles, do burnouts and generally make public nuisances of themselves that are the issue,” he said.
He said police were also patrolling known hooning areas at Cleveland and Manly.
