UPDATE: The two young children have been found safe by police.
EARLIER: Police are searching for a baby and toddler taken from a Sunshine Coast home on Tuesday.
A group of people, including two women and two men, went to a Beerwah home and threatened the two residents, a man and a woman, police said.
They hit the woman in the head with a metal pole before they took a girl, 3, and boy, 1, from the Greber Road home.
The group are known to police but officers have not been able to find them to check on the welfare of the children.
Police believe the children, who know the group of people, may have been taken to the Toowoomba area and could be travelling in a Black Holden Astra sedan with a BPS 38Q registration and a red Holden Commodore sedan with a 484 VNN registration.
Both children are described as Aboriginal with brown hair and brown eyes.
The women allegedly involved in the incident are described as Aboriginal, aged 30 and 49.
The man allegedly involved is described as a 17-year-old Aboriginal man.
