Redland Bay station acting officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Tony Brown said the man was recorded on CCTV refueling the white Mercedes-Benz C 200 sedan at a petrol station after it was stolen from a Bedarra Street address overnight on Saturday, November 25.
Senior Sergeant Brown said credit cards taken from the home had also been used in several fraudulent transactions in Redland Bay and Cornubia.
The credit cards had been stored in a handbag, which was stolen with two sets of car keys and the car.
Senior Sergeant Brown said the home’s occupants reported the theft after waking up on Sunday to find they had been robbed, with the side garage door found open.
