Swing band caps year with December show

CONCERT: Binary Music Swing Time band will host its final concert for 2017 on December 17.

Binary Music Swing Time Club will finish a successful year producing swing music with a concewrt at 1.45pm on Sunday, December 17 at Binary Music, Cleveland.

Throught the year, the club has showcased guest artists, bands and vocalists including the Stitched Up Jazz Band, Pete's Swing Combo, Redland City Ukuleles, saxophonist Neil Wickham and trombonist Graham Martin. Vocalists have included Craig Martin, Leah Lever, Dawn Moore, Kathryn Ryan and Pam Reynolds.

It is compered by George Williamson who also sings with the Club Swing Time Band. Jeff Usher, John Ellis and Karen Henderson are  regular pianists, with John Wickham on sax, Bob McGinley, Kapiki Te Awe on drums, Len Henderson on guitar and uke, Viv Layzelle on clarinet and Ian Wells on banjo. The club meets on the third Sunday of each month and kicks off with the club band at 1:45pm. There is a tea-break at approximately 3pm. Entry is $7.
