Lindy MacPherson, 53, of Birkdale is among a swag of local sports people to bring home medals from the Australian Masters games, held in Tasmania late last year
Ms MacPherson competed in the Camira Amigos softball team, bringing home a silver medal in the 45 plus A grade division.
It is not the first medal Ms MacPherson has brought home, having competed in many masters games since the age of 40.
“I love the opportunity to play a team sport and to go with friends and share cameraderie and competition at this level. And I’ve brought home medals of lots of different colours over the years,” she said.
Other Redlanders to bring home medals were Beverley Wilkinson-Reed of Redland Bay (silver with the BOP 40+ plus soccer women’s team) and Nelly Gordon of Capalaba (silver in the mixed doubles badminton). Also in the competition were Doug Manser of Cleveland (badminton) and Ludmila McNulty of Cleveland (Tuff Ol’ Chicks softball team).
