Event dates and presale tickets have been released for the 2018 Island Vibe Festival following its success at North Stradbroke Island in 2017.
Tthe 12th edition of Island Vibe Festival spanned four days where about 3400 participants got crafty at the workshop space, sweat it out on the dance floor and rejuvenated in the ocean. The festival attracts people of all ages, walks of life and cultures to experience a different, more uplifting reality.
The strong collaboration between the creative team make for a visionary feast where stages become art installations, while open spaces become an invitation for live arts.
Holding on to the belief that festivals are a catalyst for change and with the goal to educate the community with green practices, Island Vibe went even further this year by organizing eco-tours of the site’s installations, sustainability talks and workshops, and a beach clean up.
Island Vibe is a four-day celebration of music, arts and islander culture, being staged at Home Beach, Point Lookout from Thursday, October 25 to Sunday, October 28.
Over the years, the festival has morphed into a preominantly reggae and roots event. It caters to all ages and brings international and local artists together to play in tandem. Besides entertainment on multiple stages, it also offers a range of workshops, activities and talks. These include contemporary and traditional dance, traditional weaving techniques, eco workshops, world music, live painting and screen-printing.
Its location at Home Beach suits a lifestyle where festival goers can swim between acts and enjoy all that North Stradbroke Island has to offer.
Camping is not included in the ticket, so patrons are encouraged to book at local camp sites or find island accommodation early. The Adder Rock camp ground is the closest camp site and offers a range of camping choices, including the new eco tents. (straddiecamping.com.au/adder_rock)

Tickets are available through ticketbooth.com.au Tickets must be printed out or able to be viewed on a mobile device and scanned at the gate for entry. The name on the e-ticket must match photo ID.
In running the festival, the Island Vibe organisers acknowledge and thank the traditional custodians of the Quandamooka region (Moreton Bay), the Nunukal, Nughie and Goenpul people of Minjerribah and Moorgumpin (Stradbroke and Moreton islands).
