THE outstanding services of four Redlanders who have rolled-up their sleeves to help out has been recognised as part of International Volunteer Day celebrations.
Redlands SES volunteer Tim Willis, Redland Museum’s Paul Jones, Callisto Park Equestrian Centre’s Debra Myers and Cochlear Implant Club and Awareness Assocation’s Shirley Edwards were each named a Greg Cook Award volunteer of the year.
The special accolade was bestowed to each recipient at the International Volunteers Day expo, which was held at Alexandra Hills Hotel on Saturday, December 2 to help recruit Redlands residents to sign up for duties.

Volunteering Redlands chairperson Nectaria Chronopoulos said the event ensured the efforts of individuals and volunteer organisations were recognised.
She said more than 250 people explored volunteering options provided by 25 different organisations represented at the expo.
“We’re very pleased with the turnout,” she said. “The IVD expo is a significant annual event for our community.”
“The volunteering community of Redlands is strong and vibrant and we are proud to be a part of it.”
